Welcome
Welcome to the re-designed Modular Circuits site. I've been maintaining this site under Worldpress for more then a decade, but that content management system felt ... confined. It has great plug-in support, it has many features, theming support etc., but it keeps all my data hostage. It doesn't allow automation in any way I know how to deal with (I'm not a web developer). It supports history and version checking, but again, not in a form that's convenient for me to use.
So, I moved on. I converted all the old content into markdown format and from now on (or at least for a while), I'm going to use that and a pile of Python scripts to manage the website. Version management is provided by a Git repo, editing can be done in any text editor (off-line) and publication can be automated within Gitea, the private GitHub clone.
This of course doesn't concern you, dear reader, it's just a peek behind the curtain, probably boring as hell. What does concern you is that the structure of the site changed as well: if you happen to have saved bookmarks or links to pages here, those almost certainly won't work anymore.
It also means that commenting - at least for now - is disabled. This might sound like a big downgrade - and it is -, but, frankly, I would have had to disable that feature anyway: AI manages to get passed all my spam filters, and I don't have the time - or the desire - to deal with that. If you have ideas on a commenting system that is AI-proof, let me know.
Of course, I still value your feedback, so please use the contact page and e-mail for now.
